Welcome to Wollongong Speech Pathology

Wollongong Speech Pathology is a small private practice, based in the Illawarra. As a mobile service, we will come to you (we don’t have a clinic). We work with adults and adolescents only. So if you are over the age of 13, and have problems with communication or swallowing, then we are the service for you!

We are Certified Practicing Speech Pathologists, and members of Speech Pathology Australia. We are registered with Medicare, Department of Veteran Affairs, private health funds, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

OUR SERVICES

We focus on Rehab, Disability, and Aged Care services.

INPATIENT REHABILITATION

We are the consulting speech pathologists at Shellharbour Private Hospital. We receive referrals for inpatients who are having problems communicating or swallowing. We can provide one-off assessments as well as therapy during a patient’s stay.

RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE

We visit several local aged care facilities. Here we support residents with communication or swallowing problems. We also provide education and training to staff, to comply with Aged Care standards.

SUPPORTED ACCOMODATION

We are registered NDIS providers. For several years we have been visiting Disability group homes in the Illawarra, providing mealtime and communication supports as well as staff training.

WORK SKILLS

Communication skills are so important for success at work. As a mobile service we can visit your workplace (confidentially) and help you to improve your communication. This service is available for people in supported employment right through to corporate communication and accent reduction.

COMMUNITY BASED REHAB

You may be recovering from trauma or illness (such as stroke, brain injury, or cancer). You may be adjusting to changes as part of a degenerative disease (such as Parkinson’s disease or Motor Neuron Disease). We can visit you at home to offer support for your communication or swallowing skills.

EDUCATION

Group education sessions are available on a range of topics – anything relating to communication or swallowing skills in adults and adolescents.
